IntroductionNEMA Pty Ltd abides by the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 2000 (Amendment) to govern, control and administer the way NEMA Pty Ltd collects, uses and disposes of personal, corporate and private information that NEMA Pty Ltd has in its possession or will have in its possession.
Collection of Personal and Private Information
NEMA Pty Ltd will only collect and or retain personal or private information that is needed for the Group to operate its business activities effectively and to best serve its clients.
NEMA Pty Ltd will stringently endeavour to obtain any personal information directly from the relative individual. Only when all attempts have been made to obtain the information directly from the individual or the collection of this information is cost prohibitive, it may be collected elsewhere by fair and lawful means where the individual is not adversely affected.
In collecting personal or private information, NEMA Pty Ltd will take all reasonable measures to ensure that the individual whose information is being sort is aware that NEMA Pty Ltd is collecting the information.

All requests will receive a response within 14 days from the day the request is received at the NEMA Pty Ltd office.

a possible threat to a person’s life, health or well-being cause an unreasonable adversity
effecting or may effect the privacy of another
considered to be a frivolous or vexatious application for information
an existing or anticipated legal proceeding
effecting or could effect existing or anticipated commercial negotiations

prejudicing or could prejudice a law enforcement agency

NEMA Pty Ltd will always provide an explanation as to the reason why an application is declined.
When access to personal or private information is declined for any of the above reasons, an individual has the opportunity to appeal this decision, at which time a mutually acceptable intermediary or a person appointed by the Law Society of that state is be assigned to decided on the matter. This decision is binding.
NEMA Pty Ltd reserves the right to charge reasonable costs of providing access to personal or private information. There will be no charge from NEMA Pty Ltd for a person to make application for information.
NEMA Pty Ltd will not provide personal or private information outside Australia without the consent of the individual
NEMA Pty Ltd will not, without the consent of the individual, collect or disclose information concerning that individual’s racial or ethnic origins; political opinions; membership of a political , professional or trade association or trade union; philosophical or religious beliefs or affiliations; sexual preferences or practices or health information unless required by law.

The complainant should set out full details of their complaint.
The Administrative Officer will maintain a record of all complaints received, including but not limited to;
The name and contact details of the complainant
The date the complaint was received
The nature of the complaint
The details and outcome of any investigations
The Administrative Officer will also be responsible for investigating privacy complaints
A full report will be furnished to the CEO with 28 days of the date the complaint was received and this information will be kept confidential unless disclosure is required by law.
All complaints will be acknowledged within seven working days and a full response given within 35 days. Where it is not possible to complete the investigation within 35 days, the complainant will be contacted within 35 days and be provided with an investigation completion date.
Responsibility and Reporting
The responsible person within NEMA Pty Ltd for this Policy is the Administrative Office. This Officer reports directly to the CEO.
